Colombians Shine as Necaxa Defeats León 2-1 in Liga MX
León suffered another setback in the Liga MX, falling 2-1 to Necaxa in Matchday 12 after recently losing their unbeaten streak against Santos Laguna.
Colombians Johan Rojas and Diber Cambindo were the heroes for Necaxa, each finding the back of the net to secure the home victory. Rojas opened the scoring in the 16th minute, while Cambindo doubled the lead in the 32nd minute, assisted by fellow Colombian Kevin Rosero.
James Rodríguez started for León under coach Eduardo Berizzo’s trust, alongside his compatriots Jaine Steven Barreiro and Stiven Mendoza. Édgar Guerra remained on the bench. Rodríguez made an impact by providing the assist for Venezuelan striker Jhonder Cádiz’s goal in the 75th minute, but it wasn’t enough for León to mount a comeback.
With this result, Necaxa moves up to fifth place in the Liga MX standings with 21 points, five ahead of León.
This is a developing story.
