The sequel boasts a star-studded lineup, including:

What’s the Story?
The trailer, released on March 18, hints at Gilmore’s journey to revive his golf career.
“I haven’t swung a club in years,” he admits. “I don’t know where to start.”
Julie Bowen’s character, Virginia Venit, returns to encourage him:
“We’re not done with golf,” she tells him. “Let them see the Happy I fell in love with.”
Sandler also revealed the film will honor original cast members Bob Barker, Carl Weathers, and Joe Flaherty, who have since passed away.
Who’s Behind the Sequel?
The original Happy Gilmore creative team is back:

How the Sequel Came Together
In September 2024, Sandler teased the film with an Instagram post featuring his character’s iconic Bruins jersey and the caption: “It ain’t over.”
Christopher McDonald (Shooter McGavin) first revealed the sequel’s existence on The Ken Carman Show in March 2024.
“I saw Adam two weeks ago … he shows me the first draft of Happy Gilmore 2… It’s in the works. Fans demand it, damn it!”
Sandler later confirmed the news, explaining that he and Herlihy were crafting a sequel that would do justice to the original film.
A Cultural Phenomenon
The original Happy Gilmore followed an unsuccessful hockey player with a fiery temper who discovers an unexpected talent for golf. His wild, unorthodox swing and brash attitude make him a standout on the PGA Tour as he fights to save his grandmother’s home.
For the film’s 25th anniversary, Julie Bowen told Yahoo:
“At the time, I just thought, ‘Oh, no one will ever see this.’ I couldn’t have been more wrong.”
Now, nearly 30 years later, Happy Gilmore 2 is set to bring back the magic, the laughs, and the long drives when it lands on Netflix this summer.
