DK Metcalf Scores Big with Engagement to Normani
DeKaylin “DK” Metcalf may have just been traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he’s already secured one major win—his engagement to singer Normani.
During a press conference on Thursday, the wide receiver shared the exciting news, saying, “Found a new home here, found a new fiancée, and everything’s just falling in line, just the way God planned for it to be.”
Metcalf then gestured toward Normani and added with a smile, “She right there. Hold that rock up, baby.”
The proposal took place in Houston, Texas, while both of their families were gathered. Normani, caught up in the moment, was heard saying, “They got me good!” at the press conference.
The couple made their relationship public in 2023 after being introduced by singer Ciara, who is married to Metcalf’s former Seattle Seahawks teammate, Russell Wilson.
Following the engagement announcement, Ciara shared a TikTok featuring a picture of Metcalf and Normani delivering the news to her and Wilson. The post was set to Normani and Khalid’s hit song “Love Lies.”

Normani first gained fame after auditioning for The X Factor in 2012 and joining the girl group Fifth Harmony, alongside Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane, Lauren Jauregui, and Camila Cabello. The group became one of the best-selling girl groups of all time before Cabello left in 2016 to pursue a solo career. Two years later, the remaining members announced a hiatus.
Since then, Normani has carved out a successful solo career with hits like “Motivation” and “Wild Side.” She also showcased her versatility by competing on Dancing With the Stars.
With a fresh start in Pittsburgh and a new chapter in his personal life, Metcalf’s whirlwind journey continues to be filled with milestones and celebrations.
