Tracy Morgan Wheelchaired Out of Madison Square Garden After Courtside Medical Incident
Comedian Tracy Morgan was escorted out of Madison Square Garden in a wheelchair during Monday night’s New York Knicks game after reportedly vomiting while sitting courtside, multiple outlets have reported.
The incident occurred during the third quarter of the Knicks’ matchup against the Miami Heat, leading to a 10-minute pause as arena staff cleaned the floor. A longtime Knicks fan and New York native, Morgan was seen in fan-recorded footage being wheeled out of the arena while using a towel to stop a nosebleed.
“We hope Tracy feels better soon and look forward to seeing him back courtside,” a Madison Square Garden representative told People following the incident.
While the cause of Morgan’s illness remains unclear, the comedian has faced serious health challenges in the past. He underwent a life-saving kidney transplant in 2010 and survived a near-fatal crash in 2014 when his limo was struck by a tractor-trailer on the New Jersey Turnpike.
Reflecting on Morgan’s resilience, Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels spoke in 2018 when the comedian received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. “The accident was when everybody realized how much they care about him. It was somebody we didn’t want to lose. When he came back [to host Saturday Night Live], if he hadn’t stopped it, the audience would have just kept on applauding when he walked out. They were just happy he was back.”
Morgan is also continuing his acting career, set to star alongside Daniel Radcliffe in an upcoming NBC comedy pilot. The series follows a disgraced former football player (Morgan) on a mission to rehabilitate his image.
